About the project
The Yaruga Musical Instrument Workshop has gone a long way in development. In 2016, Denis caught fire with the idea of creating a folk band that would broadcast the mood, meanings and mystical spirit of the life of our ancestors in the depths of time. (For the authenticity of the team) To keep the authenticity, he studied ethnography, archaeology and methods of making tools known today. The first tool created was the "gudok". This is a forefather of modern violin, common in Slavic lands. After that came the psaltery "Slovisha", based on the archeological finds of Veliky Novgorod. (The arsenal of tools was replenished. It was supplemented by) As the assortment grew it was replenished with Scandinavian talharps (jouhikko), European lyres of all kinds.
The most unusual specimen was the battle horn of the ancient Celts "Karnix". To make this instrument, I had to study foreign monographs, and contact European museums for information. The production turned out to be very difficult and time-consuming, but now carnices and other instruments of our production complement the performances of musical groups around the world, participate in world festivals and decorate the collections of connoisseurs of authentic musical instruments.
